Art Exhibition on Sustainability

As part of its 3rd environmental campaign under the name “Green Pharos,” the Décor Department at PUA’s Faculty of Arts and Design, hosted an art exhibition. The exhibition featured a collection of student projects that embody the concept of sustainability in artistic design and highlight the role of creativity in supporting environmental issues. It also culminated in students’ efforts under the supervision of select faculty members of the department, where the participating works focused on reusing materials and employing them in innovative ways to produce artworks that combine beauty, creativity, and environmental responsibility, reflecting PUA’s vision for a more sustainable future.

The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and highlight the role of art and design in environmental protection, by transforming simple or neglected materials into distinctive artistic products that meet sustainability standards. It affirms the Faculty of Arts and Design’s mission to link creativity with environmental preservation. The exhibition was held under the supervision of Dr. Aya Afifi and Dr. Salma El Khaley, course instructors in the Décor Department. They praised the quality of the projects and the students’ innovative ideas that reflect a growing awareness of the importance of integrating sustainability principles into artistic work.
