AI’s Role in Building a Sustainable University

As part of its third environmental campaign, “Green Pharos” PUA’s Green Pharos Committee hosted an awareness event at the Faculty of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence titled “AI’s Role in Building a Sustainable University”. This initiative reflects the university’s strategy to integrate sustainability into the academic community and transform the campus into a leading model for environmental conservation through innovative technical solutions.

This event featured an insightful lecture delivered by Dr. Amr Abdel Fattah, highlighting the transformative power of Artificial Intelligence in supporting the transition toward a “Green University.” The session focused on vital themes, including resource optimization through smart systems, accelerating digital transformation to reduce paper dependency, and mechanisms for lowering the campus Carbon Footprint. The committee emphasized that this event is a cornerstone in preparing a generation of tech-savvy innovators capable of leveraging technology to serve sustainable development goals and build a greener future.
