In line with its vision to bridge the gap between academic curricula and the operational reality of major national institutions, PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication organized an educational field visit to the Egyptian Cabinet’s Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). Held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Naela Emara, Dean of the Faculty, the visit aimed to introduce students to the mechanisms of crisis management, information monitoring, and the data-driven decision-making process within a modern state.
The educational program featured high-level specialized lectures, where students received a detailed presentation on the IDSC’s strategic plan and its pivotal role in supporting public policy. Additionally, the event included a specialized session on “Cybersecurity and Information Security,” addressing contemporary digital challenges and the protection of national data against increasing threats. This session significantly enhanced the technical and security awareness of the students as future media professionals.
The visit included a guided tour of the advanced Media Center, where students and faculty members explored media monitoring techniques and content analysis used to support the decision-making process. At the conclusion of the visit, the faculty presented the Pharos University Shield to the IDSC management in recognition of their efforts in supporting the educational process and fostering national identity among youth. This gesture reaffirms the ongoing collaboration between the university and state institutions to empower future generations with essential media and strategic knowledge.
