A Lecture on Trademarks
Under the auspices of the Field Training Center, PUA’s Faculty of Legal Studies and International Transactions hosted a lecture on trademarks and the practical challenges of enforcing intellectual property laws and agreements. The session aimed to foster a culture of respect for intellectual property rights and to encourage innovation within an environment that safeguards creators’ and inventors’ legal entitlements—part of PUA’s broader effort to raise legal awareness among students and academics about protecting intellectual property in the digital age.
Prof. Dr. Mohamed Etman, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, opened the event by urging students “the nation’s future generation and its driving force”—to engage earnestly and diligently in academic and creative endeavors. He was followed by Counselor Mohamed Fathi Mostafa, Deputy for Patent and Trademark Affairs, holder of a Master’s in Intellectual Property and Creativity Management, and an attorney at Egypt’s Court of Cassation and Supreme Administrative Court, who delivered the main lecture, addressing key real-world issues and their legal remedies.
Further, the lecture was attended by Dr. Mohamed Badawy, Director of the Faculty’s Field Training Unit. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, allowing students to bridge theory and practice through direct dialogue with the expert.
