Spectroscopy Technologies in Forensic Analysis

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the International Relations Department, delivered a virtual scientific lecture for second-year students. The session hosted Dr. Karim Abdel Hay, a professor at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in the United States and one of Egypt’s distinguished scientists abroad, activating PUA’s vision toward global academic openness and educational enrichment.

The lecture addressed advanced analytical methodologies in the field of forensic science, where Dr. Karim reviewed the latest scientific mechanisms and tools used in analyzing forensic evidence at crime scenes. He focused heavily on the pivotal role of analytical instrumentation and spectroscopy technologies in identifying illegal substances, toxins, and narcotics. These insights provided students with an important applied and clinical perspective, linking analytical chemistry with practical professional reality.

The lecture featured a highly interactive dynamic, witnessing remarkable engagement from students who highly acclaimed the presented scientific content due to its direct relevance to modern applications in pharmacy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and forensic fields. This seminar represents a foundational step toward establishing a fruitful and sustainable scientific collaboration between the PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Dr. Karim Abdel Hay, contributing to updating scholars’ knowledge and opening new horizons for ongoing international exchange.
