Illicit Arms Trade Implications on National Security
PUA’s Faculty of Legal Studies and International Transactions hosted a seminar titled “Illicit Arms Trade and its Impact on National Security”. The event is part of a series initiated by the Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED) to address pressing social and security issues. Dr. Mohamed El-Kady, Lecturer in Civil Law and member of the Faculty’s Community Service Center, reviewed the grave risks posed by illicit arms trafficking and its direct consequences on destabilizing societies.
The seminar explored legal efforts and international conventions aimed at curbing this phenomenon, highlighting the legislative frameworks governing this matter. The lecturer emphasized the vital importance of legal awareness among youth, stressing the role of academic institutions in fostering a culture of security and social peace. This event underscores the Faculty’s mission to link legal studies with contemporary security challenges, preparing graduates who are conscious of the threats facing the state and society.
