RTV Bootcamp Concluded
PUA’s Faculty of Mass Communication concluded its first training camp for Radio and Television students, “RTV Experience Bootcamp,” featuring the “Anchor Challenge” competition to develop students’ news broadcast presentation and camera performance skills. This applied finale wraps up a series of specialized workshops designed to immerse students in real-world media environments through practical simulation.
During the competition, participating students anchored news bulletins utilizing teleprompter technology, focusing on essential broadcasting competencies including articulation precision, vocal range control, cadence, body language, and professional eye contact. Dr. Sarah Tarek, Lecturer in Radio and Television, provided practical evaluations addressing news delivery techniques, building on-camera confidence, and professionally handling live news scripts.
The challenge concluded with the selection of the top four student anchors based on rigorous presentation standards: Nariman Nabil, Maryam Mina, Seif Wael, and Jannah-Allah Taha, in recognition of their outstanding performance. Faculty leadership emphasized that hosting the Anchor Challenge illustrates the Radio and Television Department’s strategy to bridge academic theory with field execution, equipping students with competitive broadcasting skills required by major media networks.
