Counter-Terrorism Mechanisms

PUA’s Faculty of Legal Studies and International Transactions hosted an educational seminar titled “Countering Terrorism and Extremism: The Role of Social Awareness”. This initiative stems from the awareness-raising role of PUA’s Community Service and Environmental Development Center (CSED). Dr. Mohamed El-Kady, Lecturer in Civil Law and member of the Faculty’s Community Service Center, reviewed the roots of extremist ideology and its negative repercussions on national stability, emphasizing the central role of educational institutions in instilling values of belonging and moderate thought.

The seminar featured discussions on the necessity of collective efforts among social institutions to confront destructive ideas, focusing on entrenching concepts of dialogue and acceptance of the “other” as fundamental pillars for maintaining social peace. This event is part of the Faculty’s ongoing efforts to empower youth with legal and intellectual awareness, preparing them to contribute positively to protecting the social fabric from the dangers of extremism, in service of sustainable development goals and national stability.
