Celebrating Research Excellence and International Ranking Day

In an atmosphere brimming with pride and accomplishment, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) hosted its grand “Research Excellence and International Ranking Day” celebration. The event was attended by members of the University’s Board of Trustees, Vice Presidents, and a host of prominent academic and administrative leaders.

This celebration, in its inaugural edition, commemorates the remarkable research successes recently achieved by the university. The past period has witnessed PUA’s first-time appearance in new and significant international rankings, such as:

• The Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Research Ranking (THE ISR)
• The UI GreenMetric Ranking for Sustainable Development

Furthermore, the university has made significant progress in THE Impact Rankings, reflecting the substantial and intensive research efforts undertaken recently.

The ceremony included honoring an elite group of distinguished faculty members and researchers in recognition of their valuable contributions. The honorees included:

• Researchers ranked globally among the top 2% of scientists.
• Researchers with the highest citations attributed to PUA.
• Researchers with the highest number of publications in Scopus and local journals from theoretical faculties.
• The most active researchers who effectively contributed to PUA’s entry into these prestigious rankings through publishing scientific research in reputable international journals and diligently working to elevate the university’s research and scientific standing.

Additionally, PUA’s administrative officials were honored for their vital role in documenting and providing the essential data necessary for the ranking processes, which was a fundamental factor in achieving these accomplishments.
