PUA Hosts an African Delegation

Driven by its belief in the importance of international cooperation and enhancing openness to the African continent, Pharos University in Alexandria (PUA) received a delegation of professors and students from several African countries, particularly from South Africa, under the supervision of the International Relations Office. This visit comes within the framework of the fourth edition of the “Intra Africa” Competition, hosted by PUA.

This competition is held in support of the goals of the Africa Agenda 2063, in collaboration with PUA’s Entrepreneurship Club and coordinated with the International and African Relations Office. The competition witnessed the participation of 15 professors and students from South Africa, alongside PUA students, and with the involvement of several prestigious African universities such as: Durban University of Technology (DUT), University of Mpumalanga (UMP), and Senghor University.

This initiative reflects PUA’s commitment to strengthening ties with educational institutions across the African continent, aligning with the national directive to support African cooperation and achieve Sustainable Development Goals. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education, the President of the Association of African Universities (AAU), and several African Union affiliated entities concerned with training.

The events concluded with a Student Innovative Ideas Competition on the fourth day, following three days of workshops, where winners were honored with valuable prizes and certificates of appreciation, in cooperation with the Francophone University Association (AUF).
