As part of its ongoing efforts to bridge academic knowledge with practical application, the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at PUA’s Faculty of Pharmacy, organized a scientific field visit to the main laboratory of the Clinical Pathology Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. The visit was coordinated with the head of the pathology department and supervised by faculty members.
Twenty-two fourth-year students from the Clinical Pharmacy program participated in the visit, gaining firsthand exposure to the latest technologies and equipment used in medical diagnostics. They learned about safe handling of biological samples, precise result analysis, and quality assessment across hematology, immunology, and biochemistry laboratories.
The visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of the critical role medical laboratories play in disease diagnosis and how correlating lab results with clinical symptoms contributes to effective healthcare delivery.
