In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the bonds between academia and the local community, PUA’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management organized an extensive introductory workshop on its Community Service and Environmental Development plan. This event aligns with the university’s vision and mission to embed a culture of social responsibility within the campus. The workshop focused on presenting the core pillars of the plan and its innovative implementation mechanisms, ensuring that university activities are aligned with the actual needs of the tourism and hospitality sector in Egypt while promoting environmental and cultural awareness as essential foundations for sustainable development.
The workshop featured a detailed presentation of strategic objectives and key performance indicators (KPI), emphasizing the importance of close integration between academic curricula and field-based community programs. Participants discussed the developmental role that students can play in supporting local tourism initiatives, which contributes to preparing graduates who are conscious of their social responsibilities and capable of making a tangible positive impact on their surroundings. This workshop is part of a series of executive measures adopted by the faculty to ensure the transformation of academic concepts into developmental projects that serve the tourism sector and reinforce the university’s position as an active partner in community building.
