Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abou Ali, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineering Department organized a field trip to Zafarana Wind Power Plant on Tuesday 9/4/2019. The faculty delegation included the PUA students of the Mechanical Engineering Department and the KTH students studying at the Energy Technology Department of the joint graduation project between the PUA and the KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The coordination of this trip was managed by Dr. Norhan Ghoniem, a lecturer at the Mechanical Engineering Department and the supervisor of the PUA-KTH joint graduation project. This plant is a wind farm for generating electricity. The trip aimed to give the students of the joint graduation project the information they need to do their project. The power plant supervisors received the delegation and took them on a tour in the power plant, its workshops and the control room. They also introduced them to technical information about the turbines being used and the future plans for wind and solar energies in Jebel Al-Zayt area. They also answered all the students’ enquires. The students were accompanied in this trip by many teaching assistants members; Eng. Sara Moustafa and Eng.  Mahmoud Amin, the Assistant Lecturers in the Mechanical Engineering Department as well as Eng. Kirollos Aatti, Eng. Fathallah Desouky, Amr Mamdouh, the Demonstrators in the Mechanical Engineering Department
