The faculty of Arts and Design held an orientation session for the new students on Sunday, 22 September 2019; the session started with a documentary about the university. Following that, Prof. Hana Yassen, the dean of the faculty of Arts and Design gave a welcoming speech to the attendees, then Eng. Sara Hussien provided the freshmen with a synopsis about the Career Development and Entrepreneurship Center (CDEC) and the participation of the faculty in the centre’s activities and workshops which are linked with labor market. Synopses of the faculty’s departments were given by Prof. Rehab Taha, an adjunct assistant professor in the Fashion Design Department, Dr. Nermine Gomaa, a lecturer in the Painting Department, Dr. Shaimaa Khoder, a lecturer in the Graphics Department, Prof. Hanan Sobhy, the Head of the Graphics Department, Dr. Rania Raouf, a lecturer in the Graphics Department and Dr. Ashraf Mahdy, an assistant lecturer in the Media Arts Department.

The session was attended by Assistant Prof. Mohamed Eid and Assistant Prof. Randa Ismail, from the Décor Department, Dr. Reham Ismail, a lecturer in the Décor Department, Prof. Ashraf Zaky, the Head of the Graphics Department and Dr. Hekmat Hassan, a lecturer in the Graphics Department. A large number of new students and their parents attended this session. The session was held under the supervision of Prof. Nahla El Deeb, the leader of the faculty’s student activities, the acting Head of the Fashion Design Department and the Vice Dean of the Student Affairs and Education. At the end of the session, Prof. Hana Yassen, the faculty Dean, emphasized the importance of attendance, registration of the academic subjects and paying serious attention to their study and also wished them success in their university life.
