Course objectives :

This course presents basic understanding of concepts and interpretation of the musculo-skeletal system of the upper limb including bones, muscles, nerves, and joints. Also the basic concepts of the cardio-vascular system including the heart and main blood vessels.

Course description :

These anatomical lectures will cover the following :

  1. Introduction that covers anatomical position, planes, terms, movements, skin, fascia, muscle, bone and joints.
  2. Clavicle, scapula and pectoral region.
  3. Back and axilla.
  4. Shoulder region and humerus.
  5. Arm, radius and ulna.
  6. Flexors and extensors of the forearm.
  7. Hand and its skeleton.
  8. Nerves of upper limb.
  9. Joints of upper limb. Thorax
  10. External features of the heart.
  11. Internal structures of the heart.
  12. Body circulations and main blood vessels.

Course assessment :

1. Assignment.
2. Quiz.
3. Midterm exam.
4. Final practical.
5. Final oral.
6. Final written.
