Course objectives :
The aim is to introduce students to 16th & 18th century literature and culture.
Course description :
The course covers the literature produced in the 16th, 17th and 18th century England. Shakespeare, John Donne an =d Jane Austen- among other prominent figures are going to be introduced and their work will be analyzed. The master pieces produced in these centuries will be linked to the cultural, social and political background. Prominent figures and distinctive features of this period will be discussed.
