Course objectives :
After completing this course, students should be able to: * Appreciate the concept how to relate structure’s function to its anatomical form & arrangement, and to be prepared for more detailed future clinical studies in this area of conservative & prosthetic dentistry. *Benefit from this knowledge in order to restore the tooth anatomy & function in future clinical treatment of damaged structure.
Course description :
This course is concerned with the detailed description of surface anatomy of the permanent posterior teeth and the general outline of their pulp cavities. It also includes comparative study between the permanent & deciduous dentitions. The student learns the arrangement of teeth and their relations to each other in dental arches. The course also offers a general idea about the occlusal relations between the maxillary and mandibular teeth.
Course assessment :
Quiz 10% Midterm exam. 20% Final term exam. 50% Semester work 20% Students activities including: carved teeth requirements, practical book, poster presentation & performance during lab. sessions.
