The Engineering Scientific Day
Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abou Ali, the Dean of the faculty of Engineering at Pharos University, the faculty organized an engineering scientific day on Monday 22/4/2019 for all the faculty departments. This was held in the presence of Dr. Hesham Soudy, the Head of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate and member of the syndicate’s board, Mr. Sherif Haddara, the former Minister of Petroleum, a distinguished panel of leaderships of industrial companies and community parties. This day was also attended by a number of the faculty members, teaching assistants, administrative staff and many faculty students. The Engineering Scientific Day aimed to foster the senses of creativity, innovation and competition in students and to enable them to present their work to the university communities and the general public.
At the beginning, scientific conferences were held for the six departments of the Faculty which included a presentation of the achievements of each department during the academic year 2018/2019. The day also included an open discussion for the students with community parties who put forward some suggestions to improve the educational process as well as an environmental analysis for the faculty of Engineering to make 2019-2024 strategic plan for the faculty. Following that, it was the opening of an exhibition of the students’ projects which was held in the presence of Prof. Mahmoud Mohy El Din Mohieldin, the President of Pharos University, Dr. Hesham Soudy, the Head of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate, a number of Syndicate members and industrialists who have been introduced to the students’ projects whether they conducted for graduation or they were practical or social projects. Then, a discussion was held at the Student Theatre on the process of qualifying the future engineer which was moderated by Dr. Hesham Soudy, Mr. Sherif Haddara, Eng. Antonio El Qes Shahata and number of Syndicate representatives.
At the end of this scientific day, certificates of appreciation were given to faculty members, teaching assistants who have been promoted, the ideal employee, top students and the students who participated in the exhibition. Photos for memory’s sake were taken for all attendees.
