The founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Pharos University (PUA) in Alexandria is Mr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah Ragab, Chairman of Ragab Group. He enjoys an impeccable reputation and vast experience in the field of education. He was instrumental in establishing the Alexandria Institute of Technology and the Riada Language School in Alexandria.
To ensure best governance and ensuring core values, a Board of Trustees has been selected comprising prominent academic and social figures headed by Mr. Mohamed Abdel Fattah Ragab. The acceptance of the Board to lead Pharos University underlies the confidence its members have in the founders.
The PUA was established by presidential decree No. 252 on July 15, 2006. Moreover, the Egyptian Supreme Council of Private Universities issued the University its operating license, valid as of the 2006/2007 academic year.
