  Prof. Dr. Amani Anwar Saad Head of Computer Engineering Department has visited the German University in Cairo GUC at Tuesday the 15th of June in order to participate in the Jury of the master thesis titled: An Intelligent Type-2 Fuzzy Logic Based System for Market Design Agents; submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering by Eng. •   A trip to the Smart Village
  
  The Computer Engineering Department organized a scientific trip on Tuesday the 20th of ِApril 2010 to the Smart Village in 6^th of October city aiming to introduce different job vacancies and available opportunities there through a program intended to visit several reputable companies in the field of Computer Engineering and Information Technology. The trip was supervised by Prof. Dr.Amani Anwar Saad Head of the department, and Dr.Hanan ElMeligy.

•  A trip to Orphans Children's Village (SOS)
   Under the Supervision of Prof. Dr. / Medhat Shawky Dean of Faculty of Engineering; the Social Committee and trips kidney work of a campaign to collect donations for the center hands for the treatment of tumors, in the period between Sunday, 28 -3 - 2010 and Thursday, 1 - 4 - 2010 under the supervision of Commission officials and some of the college students was a tour inside the College to identify the activities carried out by the Centre.

•  IEEE – RISEC First Event
  
  The Department of Computer Engineering in PUA has participated in the Regional IEEE Student Engineering Contest (RISEC) organized by the IEEE Egyptian Student Branches.The contest this year involves 9 universities all over the Arab Republic of Egypt. The department was keen to encourage students to join this competition as it will increase their knowledge and professional experiences. The competition depends on give training to all students participating in different topics to help them overcome the obstacles that they may face when they undergo with their projects. Hence, a series of scientific workshops is organized. The first workshop has held at the faculty of Engineering in PUA at the period between Sunday, 14/02/2010 and Thursday, 18/02/2010. This first event concentrated on soft skills such as; creative thinking, ways of problem solving, communication and presentation skills. Several certified Trainers gave very interesting lectures. The attendees were the students that had participated in the competition, other students and PUA staff. The event was organized by Eng. Noha Elprince and supervised by Prof. Dr. Amani Anwar Saad, Head of the Department.

• Within the cooperation framework between the departments of architecture, Prof. Dr. Hatem El-Tawil, Head of Architecture Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University visited the Department of Architecture, Pharos University. Prof. Dr. Inass Hamdy accompanied him during his visit to the architectural e galleries. He had a look at the students’ work of various academic years. He expressed his admiration of the level of creative work. 

• Dr. Hisham El Shimy, represented the Department of Architecture in the seminar organized by the Supreme Council of  Culture (Committee of Architecture) held in the Opera House on Wednesday 3^rd of March, 2010. The seminar titled “Preservation of Architectural and Urban Heritage of the Siwa Oasis was presented by Prof. Dr. Hatem El Tawil, Department of Architecture, Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University.

• On Tuesday, March 30, prof / Medhat Shawky, dean of engineering gave a talk entitled "Fire Fighting Systems in Residential and Commercial Buildings". This talk is the first in a series of seminars organized by the faculty of engineering. The ongoing sequence of seminars is meant to boost research activities in the faculty of engineering. Each seminar is meant to be presented by prominent researchers in various fields of study.

•  PUA Department of Architecture Engineering has organised a trip on Thursday 18th March, lead by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof Magued Naguib, Prof Inass Hamdy, the head of the department, and architectural teaching assistant, May El Tabbakh, as part of its events during Prof Johan Mårtelius from KTH visit to the department. The visited site is a UNESCO World Heritage listed site, currently at risk, Abu Mina at Burg El Arab. The site comprises the remains of an early Christianity complex consisting of a great cathedral, a basilica and an entire city built during the time of Pope Athanasius and Pope Thawfilus to commemorate the great Martyr Saint Mina. Next to the archaeological site there is also a Coptic monastery and a magnificent cathedral next to it built during the time of Pope Kyrillos in 1959-1970. The visit was highly appreciated by all parts and the important role of professional architects in restoration was discussed

• Department of Architectural Engineering organized a scientific trip to Fatimid Cairo on Friday 19^th March, 2010 within the framework of the integration between the design process on one hand and; the practical and cultural aspects of architecture on the other. The trip was supervised by Prof. Dr. Inass Hamdy; the Head of the Department and Dr. Hisham El Shimy; lecturer at the Department and were accompanied by Prof. Johan Maretilius; visitor professor/KTH-Sweden. The trip incorporated the architecture students from various years and the program included a visit to Al Sultan Hassan mosque, Al Hakim mosque, Ibn Tulun mosque and Al-Muizz Street. 

• Scientific Visit TO King Ranch Hotel
  
  The Department of Architecture is organizing a trip for the second and third year students to visit the construction  site of Kings Ranch Hotel in king Mariout Various topics concerning the building technology were investigated , ( foundations - Drilling - reclamation – Insulation -….etc) the trip was organized  and supervised  by head of department Prof.Dr Inass Hamdy , Dr. Hisham El Shimy and T.A. Ahmed Erebi in coordination with Prof. Dr Hamdy El Kamhawy the main consultant of project as part of the department  framework of linking the scientific contents of study courses with practical applications
